🔧 Quick Start Guide

1. Attach Antenna
Screw the included antenna into the connector on the unit.

2. Power On
Plug Renny into a wall outlet using the provided adapter only. (No battery – must stay plugged in.)

3. Bluetooth Pairing

  • Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Tap “Renny JR” to connect.
  • Renny connects to 1 phone at a time, but 2 Rennys can ring from the same phone (smartphones only).
  • Can’t find it? Try this reset:
    1. Reboot your phone.
    2. Insert a paperclip into the RESET hole (bottom of Renny) and press once. You should hear "Reset."
    3. Reconnect via Bluetooth settings. (Code if needed: 0000)

4. Pairing with Landline or VoIP Phones

  • Set Renny to RING mode (toggle switch).
  • Reset using the steps above.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices within range, including cell phones.  If so, turn off Bluetooth in settings for any iPhone, Android, etc.
  • Pair via your landline’s Bluetooth headset settings (refer to your phone manual).
    (Note: Renny is not a speakerphone and has no microphone—for your privacy.)

⚠️ Not compatible with Panasonic KX-TG9581/9582.
Works with models like Panasonic KX-TGD890, VTech VG131/IS8251, AT&T GL2113, etc.


🔘 Basic Operation

  • Switch Modes: Use toggle to choose:
    • RING Mode – Renny rings for calls; all other phone sounds stay on your phone.
    • MUSIC Mode – All audio (calls, music, texts, etc.) plays through Renny. (Not recommended for music streaming.)
  • Select Ringtone: Short press button.
  • Adjust Volume: Use V+ / V– buttons. Double beep = min/max reached.
  • Phone Number Announce (Cell phones only):
    • Press and hold button to toggle On/Off.

📌 Important Notes

  • No WiFi, Internet or apps needed.
  • No internal battery – must stay plugged in.
  • No microphone – protects your privacy.
  • Works with most Bluetooth phones: iPhone, Android, Jitterbug, Yealink, landline phones (with Bluetooth Headset capability), and newer flip phones (<3 yrs old).
  • Not designed for high-quality music streaming.

🚨 Troubleshooting

🔌 Bluetooth Issues (Disconnecting or Can’t Connect)

Try This Reset:

  1. Forget "Renny JR" in Bluetooth settings.
  2. Reboot your phone.
  3. Set Renny to RING mode.
  4. Use a paperclip to reset Renny (press until it says “reset”).
  5. Reconnect in Bluetooth settings.

Also Try:

  • Ensure phone is up to date.
  • Avoid plugging Renny into outlets controlled by wall switches.
  • Keep Renny in one mode (frequent switching may require reset).
  • Use Android: “Bluetooth Auto Connect” app | iPhone: “BluetoothAssistant” app.

📱 Samsung Galaxy Answers Call via Renny (No Audio)

  1. Update phone software.
  2. Set Renny to RING mode and reset.
  3. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Interaction and Dexterity > Answering and Ending Calls → Turn off Auto Answer.
  4. Reset Bluetooth and network settings.

🔇 Renny Doesn't Ring (But Phone Says Connected)

  • Reboot phone.
  • Confirm you're using the original power adapter.
  • Toggle Phone Number Announce (hold button).
  • Press "V–" 3 or 4 times, then short press  to test ringtone.
  • If no sound, reset Renny.

🔔 No Text/Notification Sounds in MUSIC Mode

  • Turn phone volume all the way up (not on silent).
  • Reset Renny.
  • Tip: Only incoming calls play in RING mode. For full notification audio, keep Renny in MUSIC mode (but volume is controlled by phone).

🔍 Renny Not Showing in Bluetooth List

  • Reboot phone, toggle Bluetooth off/on.
  • Reset Renny as above.

⏰ Alarm Doesn’t Play Through Renny

Correct—Renny does not support alarms. Use services like wakeupdialer.com to get a phone call instead.


📱 New Phone Can’t Find Renny

Reset Renny—it may still be paired with your old phone.


🔊 Volume Resets to Max

Normal behavior. Renny resets to max volume after power loss. To retain volume, keep Renny plugged in.


📞 Landline Won’t Pair

Some models are incompatible (e.g., Panasonic KX-TG9581/9582). Phone must be able to connect a Bluetooth Headset.  Contact us for a refund or compatible suggestions.

  • Use only the included power adapter—others may cause damage or electric shock.
  • Observe all posted signs requiring electrical or RF devices to be powered off.
  • Do not use Renny in aircraft.
  • Dispose of Renny according to local regulations.
